Officials in Dover, New Hampshire, had to cease the community’s water fluoridation program due to the lack of available sodium fluoride. The American Dental Association (ADA) notes that three types of fluoride are used in community water fluoridation: fluorosilicic acid, sodium fluoride, and sodium fluorosilicate.
