Even as Cases Rise, COVID-19 Mortality Continues to Decline

As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to grow rapidly across the United States, mortality rates have steadily decreased, with a 30% drop in deaths seen since April, according to researchers at the University of Washington Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation in Seattle. The institute reports that 0.6% of COVID-19 patients currently die compared to 0.9% of COVID-19 patients who were dying at the start of the pandemic.
