Four States Add COVID-19 Lotteries to Boost Vaccination Rates

Ohio, Maryland, New York, and Oregon are offering lotteries worth millions of dollars to increase vaccination rates. On May 13, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced that Ohio residents ages 18 and older who receive a COVID-19 vaccination will be entered to win one of five lotteries worth $1 million each. Those younger than 18 who get a COVID-19 shot are eligible to win one of five full college scholarships.
