COVID-19 Brings Big Changes on the Employment Front

Although life is the closest it’s been to normal since the pandemic began nearly 2 years ago, some things seem to have permanently changed, mainly employment. Many workers who felt unappreciated, underpaid, and stressed out left those positions, leading to what some have called “the great resignation.” Since April 2021, approximately 15 million Americans have left their jobs, leaving employers scrambling to fill positions. Healthcare and childcare have seen some of the most significant employee losses.

Workers can make incremental changes to help prevent burnout such as insisting upon healthy work-life balance boundaries, taking more frequent breaks, and even stepping away for a mental health leave of absence.
