This field of dentistry focuses on repairing damaged or missing teeth through various procedures. From dental implants to fillings, there are different options available to fit your specific needs. Keep reading to learn more about restorative dentistry and how it can improve not only your oral health but also enhance your overall well-being.

What is Restorative Dentistry?

Restorative dentistry is a branch of dentistry that aims to restore the function and aesthetics of teeth. It involves repairing or replacing damaged, decayed, or missing teeth using various techniques and procedures.
Restorative dental treatments can range from simple fillings to more complex procedures like bridges, implants, and root canal therapy. The goal is to help patients achieve optimal oral health by addressing issues such as tooth decay, gum disease, trauma, and aging. One of the most common restorative dental procedures is filling. This treatment involves removing any damaged or decayed material within a tooth and filling it with a durable substance like composite resin or amalgam. Fillings are essential for restoring both functionality and appearance while preventing further damage or infection. Another popular procedure in restorative dentistry is dental implants. These are artificial tooth roots surgically implanted into the jawbone to support replacement teeth such as crowns or bridges. Dental implants offer many benefits over traditional alternatives like removable dentures; they look natural, feel comfortable in your mouth and provide long-lasting results. Restorative dentistry offers an array of options for improving your oral health while enhancing your smile’s beauty and confidence!

The Different Types of Restorative Dentistry Procedures

Restorative dentistry is a specialized branch of dental care that aims to restore the function and aesthetics of teeth that have been damaged, decayed or lost. There are several types of restorative dentistry procedures available to patients depending on their specific needs. One common type of restorative dentistry procedure is dental implants. These are artificial tooth roots that are placed in the jawbone to provide support for replacement teeth. Dental bridges are another popular option for replacing missing teeth which involves anchoring prosthetic teeth onto neighboring natural teeth. For those with extensive damage or decay, dental crowns may be recommended by a dentist. Crowns cover the entire visible portion of a damaged tooth, protecting it from further harm while also improving its appearance. Dental fillings can also be used as part of restorative dentistry treatment plans. Fillings help repair minor cavities and prevent further deterioration while preserving as much healthy tooth structure as possible. Removable appliances like dentures can be used to replace multiple missing teeth or even an entire arch if necessary. There is no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to restorative dentistry procedures. A qualified dentist will evaluate each patient’s unique situation and recommend the best course of action based on factors such as oral health status, budget and personal preferences.

Benefits of Restorative Dentistry

Marietta Dentistry are not just about improving the appearance of your teeth, it also offers several benefits that can improve your overall oral health. One of the primary advantages of dentistry is that it helps to prevent further dental problems from occurring. By repairing damaged or missing teeth, restorative dentistry reduces the risk of tooth decay and gum disease. This means you will require fewer treatments in the future, potentially saving both time and money in the long run. Restorative procedures like dental implants can also help to preserve bone density by stimulating natural bone growth. This can prevent additional bone loss which may occur if missing teeth are left untreated. Another benefit of dentistry is an improvement in speech and eating habits. When teeth are missing or damaged, it becomes difficult to speak clearly or eat certain foods comfortably. Restoring these functions through dental restoration can greatly improve quality of life. One major advantage of dentistry is its ability to boost self-confidence. By restoring your smile to its former glory, you’ll feel more confident in social situations and professional settings alike. There are many benefits associated with undergoing restorative dentistry procedures beyond cosmetic improvements alone.

How to Choose a Restorative Dentist

When it comes to choosing our dentists Marietta, there are a few key factors that you should consider. First and foremost, look for a dentist who has experience performing the specific type of procedure that you need. For example, if you need dental implants, make sure the dentist you choose has completed many successful implant placements. Another important factor is the dentist’s qualifications and credentials. Look for someone who has advanced training in restorative dentistry or holds certifications in relevant areas such as cosmetic dentistry or prosthodontics. It’s also essential to find a dentist who uses modern techniques and equipment. This can help ensure that your procedure will be efficient, effective, and comfortable. In addition to technical skills and qualifications, it’s crucial to choose our dentists Marietta who makes you feel comfortable and at ease. You want someone with excellent communication skills who takes the time to answer your questions thoroughly and address any concerns you may have. Dr. Daniel Lee is the best dentist I've seen. She's so considerate of your fear of the dentist and was so painless although multiple procedures were done at the same time to save me a visit. Will definitely be coming here for years to come Il!

Susan

Dr. Gilreath is incredible with my kids. They love going to the dentist now! And this busy mom loves the warm neck wraps, the soft music and enjoying a latte while I relax!

Kenneth H.

Was lucky enough to find these guys when I got insurance that my old dentist did not take. Very professional and friendly staff! Office has the latest greatest technology as well. If you're looking for a new dentist, search no further!

Susie L.

Very personable and friendly, they took the time to go over my complex dental history and did not pressure me into anything. They gave their recommendations and priced out any options I had. Great group!

Camille Y.

Dr. Gilreath and his staff are top notch. I received the best cleaning I've ever had while watching my favorite show. The Doctor and his staff were all very polite, friendly, and courteous. They explained everything to me clearly and presented me with options in a gentle way that didn't make me feel pressured at all. It's obvious they really care about the wellbeing of their patients. The facility and equipment is really nice as well. I will definitely be back!

Juan R.

Always willing to work around my kids and my schedules. Today I had a long appointment. They started on time and always made sure I was comfortable and that the pain was managed so the procedure could’ve been completed without issues. Very courteous and professional staff.

Lucia B.

Awesome dental practice! The staff is friendly and efficient. Dr. Gilreath is thorough and versed in the latest technology and procedures. I love that he can make crowns in the office while you wait (so no walking around with a temporary crown for days or weeks). I would strongly recommend this dental practice!

Matthew W.

I've been going here for about a little over a year now. I've had a few cleanings, a filling, and started Invisiline so far. Hands down, the best run dental office I've ever been to. In the past at other dental offices I often had to wait 30 or more minutes beyond my appointment time before being seen. At Dr. Gilreath's office I've been seen on time every time. They seem to have systems in place to make every part of your visit run smoothly. From how they took x-rays, to billing and appointments, to the work done by the hygienist/dentist, everything seems to run like a well oiled machine. On top of that all the staff are all friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The office space itself is also quite nice. Very clean, well maintained, and seems very "up to date" with their equipment. If you're looking for a dentist and are anywhere in the northwest metro area I would highly recommend Dr. Gilreath.
