Louisiana Broadens Access to Care for Some of the State’s Most Vulnerable Residents

Legislation recently passed in the State of Louisiana provides coverage for dental services through Medicaid expansion to residents with intellectual and physical disabilities. Full dental coverage became available to more than 12,000 Louisiana residents with disabilities on July 1. Coverage includes diagnostic services, preventive services, restorative services, endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, and emergency care.
