Using 3M™ Scotchbond™ Universal Plus Adhesive, 3M™ Filtek Supreme Ultra Universal Restorative and 3M™ Sof-Lex™ Diamond Polishing System.
Patient came with chief complaint of having a “temporary restoration” that had an open contact. The treatment plan consisted of a class II, MO (mesio-occlusal) restoration using 3M™ Scotchbond™ Universal Plus Adhesive and 3M™ Filtek™ Supreme Ultra Universal Restorative, Shade A2B. After total isolation with rubber dam, the temporary restoration was fully removed, all the procedures related to the adhesive were made and the composite material was placed and finished with burs and a #12 scalpel blade. Polishing completed using 3M™ Sof-Lex™ Diamond Polishing System.
Initial situation: patient presented with a temporary Glass Ionomer restoration showing an open contact in the mesial.
Extensive prep after removing all the existing Glass Ionomer.
37% phosphoric acid etch gel was applied using the selective etch technique. This was left on for 10 seconds, then rinsed away with water.
3M™ Scotchbond™ Universal Plus Adhesive was rubbed in for 20 seconds and air-drying for 5 seconds- Active application is the key for best results.
Adhesive was then light cured for 10 seconds.
After 3M™ Filtek™ Supreme Ultra Universal Restorative was placed and light cured, a scalpel blade was used to contouring.

Final restoration. The high shine is obtained by following the sequence of the 3M™ Sof-Lex™ Diamond Polishing System.
