NC Dental Board Considers Change to Sedation Procedures

The North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners has received a multitude of comments regarding a proposed rule change that would require all dental practices in the state to hire a certified registered nurse anesthetist or an anesthesiologist to be present when deep sedation is administered. The comment time frame ended in March and the board has thousands of documents to examine during its next meeting on May 18.
