Poll Shows Americans’ Trust in Scientists and Institutions Has Eroded

A poll conducted by the Pew Research Center found that Americans’ trust in scientists and institutions has decreased over the past year. In November 2020, 40% of Americans said they trusted scientists; today, this percentage is down to 29%. In the same poll, 29% of respondents believed that scientists were working with the goal of ensuring public health compared to 39% in November 2020.
