Last month, the 40th edition of the International Dental Show (IDS) took place in Cologne, celebrating its 100th anniversary. Around 120.000 visitors from 162 countries joined the show to find out more about the products and services presented by 1,788 exhibitors, 433 of which were representing German companies. This time foreign visitors were the majority, accounting for 60 percent of the total.
The 100 – strong 3M IDS team presented their latest digital dentistry technologies and hosted lectures and product demonstration sessions during the whole week.
Our booth offered a wide variety of activities for the visitors, who could see our latest digital innovations such as our partnership with Second Opinion, the first real-time dental AI platform that automatically detects numerous conditions in dental x-rays to give dentists a second set of eyes for superior radiologic accuracy.
Visitors to 3M booth could also see hands-on demonstrations of all our procedures, attend free lectures from world class speakers in our speaker corner or test their knowledge about dental topics through our Brain Floss Quiz; by the way, if you could not attend the show or didn’t try our quiz, you can do it now below.
In our Speakers Corner we were honored to host lectures from our partners Style Italiano, Bioclear, BlueLight Analytics and Success Simplified. Throughout the IDS week we hosted 28 lectures with a combined attendance of more than 500 guests.
Many visitors appreciated the opportunity to talk first-hand to the developers and inventors of the many 3M products that are being used in their practices everyday, like our Scotchbond adhesives, RelyX cements or Impregum. Moreover, the “tidy drawer” on our booth with our 3 truly universal products (Scotchbond Universal Plus, RelyX Universal and Filtek Universal) inspired many to rethink their procedures for the sake of more simplicity and reliability.
This year was the first for us after the pandemic and we could not feel any happier and prouder to have been part of it. As our Vice President, Cagatay Guler, said to our friends at Dental Tribune International, we were really excited to meet again, face to face, with our customers, partners and industry stakeholders. For us, beyond the numbers, the main reason of happiness was being back to the direct interaction we had been missing so much. Now we can proudly shout out loud: WE ARE BACK!!
