What is family dentistry?

Our dentistry is a specialized branch of dental care that focuses on providing comprehensive oral healthcare to patients of all ages. Family dentists are trained to cater to the specific needs and concerns of children, teenagers, adults, and seniors alike. Unlike general dentistry which only provides basic dental services like teeth cleaning and filling cavities, family dentistry offers a wide range of treatments such as root canal therapy, orthodontics, cosmetic procedures, and more. Another notable aspect of family dentistry is its emphasis on preventive care. This means regular check-ups with your dentist to catch any potential issues before they become major problems. In addition to treating common dental problems like tooth decay or gum disease in patients of all ages, family dentists also educate their patients about proper oral hygiene practices tailored to their individual needs. By instilling good habits early on in life through regular visits with a trusted family dentist can lead towards healthy oral habits for years to come!

Why family dentistry is important for your loved ones

Family dentistry is an important aspect of ensuring the overall health and well-being of your loved ones. Regular visits to a family dentist can help detect oral health issues early on, preventing them from turning into more serious problems later on. Children should start seeing a family dentist as soon as their first teeth come in, usually around six months old. This helps establish good oral hygiene habits at a young age and ensures that any potential issues are caught early on. For adults, regular check-ups with a family dentist can help prevent gum disease and tooth decay. A family dentist can also provide advice for maintaining proper dental hygiene between appointments. One of the biggest advantages of opting for a family dentist rather than individual practitioners is the convenience factor. Scheduling appointments for everyone in one go saves time and hassle. It also allows for more personalized care, as the same dentist will be familiar with every member’s unique dental history and needs. A good family dentist will prioritize building relationships with their patients, making every visit feel comfortable and stress-free. By choosing to invest in your loved ones’ dental health through regular visits to a trusted practitioner, you’re setting them up for long-term success when it comes to their overall wellness.

The benefits of family dentistry

Our dentistry offers numerous benefits beyond just dental care. The primary advantage is that it allows everyone in your family to receive quality dental care from a single provider. What to expect during your appointment

When it comes to family dentistry, going to the dentist can seem like a daunting task for both kids and adults alike. But understanding what to expect during your appointment can help ease any anxiety or fear. Firstly, upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by friendly staff who will ask you to fill out any necessary paperwork and provide insurance information if applicable. You may also be asked about your medical history and any concerns you have regarding your oral health. The actual dental exam typically starts with an x-ray of your teeth, which helps the dentists identify any potential issues that may not be visible during a regular exam. The dentists will then perform a thorough examination of your teeth and gums using various tools such as a mirror, scaler, and probe. During this time, they’ll check for cavities, gum disease or other issues such as impacted wisdom teeth. If there are any problems detected during the examination process or x-rays taken prior to cleaning then treatment options will be discussed in detail including cost estimates afterwards, depending on the results of the exam/cleaning process performed at home between visits (flossing & brushing) recommendations might include additional cleanings every 3-4 months instead of twice per year due to lack of maintenance done regularly outside appointments

Going to the dentists doesn’t have to feel scary when you know what’s coming!

How to find a good family dentist

This will give you an opportunity to ask questions about their experience, qualifications, services offered, and pricing. Dr. Daniel Lee is the best dentist I've seen. He's so considerate of your fear of the dentist and was so painless although multiple procedures were done at the same time to save me a visit. Will definitely be coming here for years to come Il!

Susan

Dr. Gilreath is incredible with my kids. They love going to the dentist now! And this busy mom loves the warm neck wraps, the soft music and enjoying a latte while I relax!

Kenneth H.

Was lucky enough to find these guys when I got insurance that my old dentist did not take. Very professional and friendly staff! Office has the latest greatest technology as well. If you're looking for a new dentist, search no further!

Susie L.

Very personable and friendly, they took the time to go over my complex dental history and did not pressure me into anything. They gave their recommendations and priced out any options I had. Great group!

Camille Y.

Dr. Gilreath and his staff are top notch. I received the best cleaning I've ever had while watching my favorite show. The Doctor and his staff were all very polite, friendly, and courteous. They explained everything to me clearly and presented me with options in a gentle way that didn't make me feel pressured at all. It's obvious they really care about the wellbeing of their patients. The facility and equipment is really nice as well. I will definitely be back!

Juan R.

Always willing to work around my kids and my schedules. Today I had a long appointment. They started on time and always made sure I was comfortable and that the pain was managed so the procedure could’ve been completed without issues. Very courteous and professional staff.

Lucia B.

Awesome dental practice! The staff is friendly and efficient. Dr. Gilreath is thorough and versed in the latest technology and procedures. I love that he can make crowns in the office while you wait (so no walking around with a temporary crown for days or weeks). I would strongly recommend this dental practice!

Matthew W.

I've been going here for about a little over a year now. I've had a few cleanings, a filling, and started Invisiline so far. Hands down, the best run dental office I've ever been to. In the past at other dental offices I often had to wait 30 or more minutes beyond my appointment time before being seen. At Dr. Gilreath's office I've been seen on time every time. They seem to have systems in place to make every part of your visit run smoothly. From how they took x-rays, to billing and appointments, to the work done by the hygienist/dentist, everything seems to run like a well oiled machine. On top of that all the staff are all friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The office space itself is also quite nice. Very clean, well maintained, and seems very "up to date" with their equipment. If you're looking for a dentist and are anywhere in the northwest metro area I would highly recommend Dr. Gilreath.
