JAMA Pediatrics recently retracted a research letter it published that concluded mask wearing among children was dangerous to their health. The study suggested that mask wearing exposed children to dangerous levels of carbon dioxide. JAMA Pediatrics cited issues with the device used to measure carbon dioxide as well as the study’s failure to account for the fresh air that children were inhaling with each breath.
