WHO Calls for Universal Dental Care

The World Health Organization (WHO) recently released its Global Oral Health Status Report, which reviews the dental disease rates among 194 countries across the globe. Unsurprisingly, the most common oral health problems are dental caries, edentulism, periodontitis, and oral cancer. The report cites high cost and lack of providers as the driving forces behind poor oral health outcomes and suggests that universal oral healthcare coverage should be implemented by 2030.
