Brazilian Dentist Honored for her Research on Curing Lights

Cristiane Maucoski, DDS, MS, who is a practicing dentist in her native Brazil and a current doctoral student at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, received the Mitacs Award for Outstanding Innovation—International for her research on the effectiveness of curing lights. She investigated how well a variety of curing lights hardened resin-based composites with the goal of helping companies design better lights and restorative materials, ensuring patients spend less time in the dental office, and supporting patients’ long-term oral health through effective restorative therapy.
