A study published in the British Journal of Health Psychology indicates focusing on the vaccine’s efficacy may convince adults who are unsure about receiving the COVID-19 vaccines. Researchers at the University of Bristol surveyed adults residing in the United Kingdom in December 2020 and found of 2,400 study participants, 65% agreed or strongly agreed they would receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Additionally, 23% reported uncertainty about how the COVID-19 vaccine performed, while 12% said they would not receive the vaccine. In a second survey of 481 people who were uncertain about the vaccine, confidence levels grew by approximately 20% when told of the efficacy of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, according to the university.
