Q: My New Year's resolution is to have a schedule that makes me and my team happy. I want to be productive, stay on time, and have room for new patients. What advice do you have for me?

A: You can create your ideal day, and Dentrix can help you achieve it. The Perfect Day Scheduling feature in Dentrix can help give your team a visual map on your appointment book. This allows whoever schedules appointments at your office to follow the guideline set by you. When I worked in a practice, I used Perfect Day Scheduling to map out time for our new patients, scaling and root planing (SRP), new patient prophys, surgeries, and any other procedure time to help us make our office goals.

Mapping out your schedule with Perfect Day Scheduling is easy to set up, but it does take discipline to implement. Grab a blank schedule and some colored pens and start designing your ideal day. Once you have your days outlined on paper, go to Appointment Book > Setup > Provider Setup and select a provider ID and click edit. Then start adding blocks.
