The Latest COVID-19 Surge Is Impacting Kids More Than Ever Before

More than 2,000 children are hospitalized due to COVID-19, a number much greater than has been seen before during the global pandemic. The Delta variant is highly transmissible, and with children ages 11 and younger ineligible for a COVID-19 vaccine, their vulnerability is apparent. Hospitalized children comprise approximately 2.5% of all patients hospitalized due to SARS-CoV-2.
