Nursing and Dentistry Partnership Benefits Pediatric Patients

The University of Illinois Chicago College of Nursing and College of Dentistry have entered a partnership to deliver dental care to children more quickly. 

The University of Illinois Chicago College of Nursing and College of Dentistry have entered a partnership to deliver dental care to children more quickly.

Nursing faculty are providing health screenings to pediatric patients who are scheduled to receive dental care treatment under general anesthesia, allowing parents to obtain clearance and a surgery date all in one visit. Normally, parents would have to visit a primary care provider to receive clearance. Streamlining the process allows pediatric patients to receive the dental care they need without delays.
