British Dentists Balk at COVID-19 Vaccine Mandates

The British Dental Association (BDA) is warning the country’s public health officials that many dentists will simply leave the profession rather than adhere to a COVID-19 vaccine mandate, leaving vulnerable Brits without access to oral healthcare. One in 10 dentists in England is not fully vaccinated against the novel coronavirus. England’s Parliament recently voted to require all healthcare providers, including dentists and dental hygienists, who work within the National Health Service system to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by April 1, 2022. However, BDA leadership notes that the risk of dental providers quitting due to the mandate is high. British patients already face long waits when it comes to accessing dental care.
