Dental Practice Made Simple is a video series from DrBicuspid.com and Levin Group. Tune in every Wednesday for a quick tip from Dr. Roger P. Levin to learn how to build high-powered, proven systems that lead to practice success.

The dashboards in software programs can give you a lot of numbers, ratios, and percentages that help you know how well your practice is performing. But the problem with dashboards is that you actually have to look at them, Levin said in the latest episode of Dental Practice Made Simple.

"I'm not being sarcastic. I'm not being critical," he said. "You literally have to look at them."

For most dentists, reviewing the entirety of their dashboard on a daily basis is the last thing they want to do. Instead, Levin offered two alternatives:

  1. Look at the full dashboard once per week.
  2. Look at just a few numbers every day.

"There are a lot of good dashboards out there, but you are the one who has to use them properly," he said.
